Buckley Cottage
- Accommodation
The cottage was completely
refurbished inside in 2000, without compromising any of its
charm. It has homely furnishings, a well-equipped
kitchen and sleeps 8
comfortably in three bedrooms.
There is potential to sleep two more if the
sitting room’s sofa
bed is also used. We also have a floor-mattress (in
bedroom 1) which we use for children.
We provide duvets and pillows
but tenants need to bring all sheets, duvet covers,
pillowcases and towels with them.
Well-behaved dogs
are welcome.
Heating and hot
water
There are centrally timed /
controlled night storage heaters with booster facilities in all
the main rooms; the kitchen has a floor level fan heater for
warming your toes on chilly mornings; and the bathroom has both
storage and fan heaters. And then there’s the Jötul log
burner in the sitting room (first basket of wood provided;
after that, we ask you to supply your own)…
The hot water is electrically
heated overnight but may need boosting during the day if you
have lots of people staying.
Accessibility
We regret that the cottage is
not suitable for anyone who has access difficulties. It is
located up a steep section of a narrow road, up some stone
steps and along a short but uneven path. Internally, it also
has steep winding stairs and no ground floor bathroom
facilities.
