Terms
Payment and
confirmation
For stays of a week of more,
booked more than 8 weeks in advance, we ask for a deposit of
50% of the full rental to confirm the booking. The balance
is then due by 6 weeks before the first night booked,
without further request.
For shorter stays or those booked
less than 8 weeks in advance of the dates booked, we ask for
full payment at the time of booking.
Receipts are issued by post for
deposits and full payments. We will hold bookings for
7 days - if payment is not received within that period
we reserve the right to cancel the booking.
Cancellation
If you need to cancel your booking
more than 8 weeks before the start of your stay, we will
make best endeavours to re-let. If we are successful in
this, we will return all monies paid except a £50 handling
fee. If we aren’t able to re-let, the monies paid are
forfeited.
Please note that, like most
holiday lettings, we suggest that you cover the booking with
insurance. This avoids any awkwardness in the event that,
for whatever reason, you have to cancel at short notice.
Arrival and
departure
For stays in high season, you must
not arrive at the cottage before
3pm and must vacate
by 10 am on the day you
leave. For stays out of high season, we can often be more
flexible about arrival and leaving times but please let us
know what times you are hoping to arrive / depart.
On receipt of your full payment,
we will send you our joining instructions, with directions
to the cottage etc.
Tenants are asked to leave the
cottage reasonably clean and organised when they leave.
Bed linen and
towels
Please note that we do not provide
bed linen and towels – you will need to bring with you:
duvet covers; pillowcases; lower sheets and towels
(including a hand towel for the loo).
There is a company in Salcombe that hires out bed linen and
cots etc. The details are available in our online information pack.
Fixtures and
fittings
We endeavour to make sure that all
fixtures and fittings are in serviceable order. If anything
needs attention, please let us know as soon as possible and
we’ll get it addressed as best we can, either directly or
through our local caretaker.
We do ask tenants to let us know
as soon as possible if they break anything during their stay
so we can do our best to get a replacement organised for the
next occupiers.
Dogs
Mature dogs which are well-behaved
and used to travelling with their owners are welcome at the
cottage. Unlike many holiday cottage rentals, we do not make
any additional charge for them joining you during your stay.
We do ask you not to leave then unattended in the house or
to shut them out of the house at any time.
Noise and
nuisance
The creek at Batson acts as
something of an amphitheatre – particularly when the tide is
in! Please be considerate in the amount of noise you make
outside, to preserve the Batson tranquillity for everyone
staying around the creek. We hope they are as considerate
for you …
